So I was shopping around for a sturdy metal base shelf that was large enough to shelf a laptop. I have 3 laptops, my personal laptop, my work laptop, and an old "trash" laptop to try things on. The trash laptop tends to get really hot when used for a long period of time (damn you old Dell laptops). This was probably the cheapest and most solid solution I could find on Amazon. It's metal to take any prolong burst of hot air from the computer, solid enough that I don't feel like my laptop will break or fall, and has enough holes to allow air vents to breathe. I tossed the tray and place one laptop there, one on the mid tray, and one on the top. I then use a usb-c doc and KVM to connect connect them up to my monitors so I can swap back and forth depending on the project. In the end, it's just a shelf but it's a shelf perfect for this purpose in my opinion.
